Family Fun

Second Shooting at a June Wedding

In June, I got the opportunity to help Sarah at ShutterHappy Photography shoot a wedding.  It was a fun experience and it was my first 2nd shooting at a wedding.  I'm used to being the main photographer so I had a hard time not shoot "everything" and let Sarah do her job.  But, in the end it was a great experience and was fun to watch her shoot.  I was able to get a few shots in here and there. Here's some of those pictures...

I'm also going to outline how I schedule a typical wedding day.  First off, I arrive early to get shots of everyone getting ready. I also do shots of the venue and decorations before everyone is there.  It is a good time to shoot of all those little details that the bride has put so much time and effort into choosing.  In this first picture, the bride has just gotten ready and is anxious to get outside start her special day...

Many brides and grooms wonder if a "First Look" is the way to go.  I find them to be a wonderful experience.  This is time for just the bride & groom....I keep everyone else away so they can have some time together.  They have a half and hour or so out of their busy day to just enjoy one another.  Here's this couple's "First Look"...

Next we go and do portraits of just the Bride & Groom....

Then we add the wedding party and do those shots...

We finish up with family shots and then wisk away the Bride and Groom so they can "hide" and rest as their guests arrive....

Then the ceremony...

And reception....

Weddings are so much fun!  Congrats to Mr & Mrs "M"!

Cute Kiddos

I love working with kids! I love their playfulness and joy.

Workshops & Shoot Outs

As a photographer, I am continuously learning and growing.  And I LOVE it!  I love taking classes and learning   from them.  I have spent many, many hours this year attending and watching workshops and webinars.  It is just completely exciting to me as I learn something new.  I also have had a chance to join a couple groups of area photographers and it's been a great support and an educational tool for me.  I've got to attend a couple events so far. We had a big lighting workshop and we had a shootout in downtown Boise.  Here are some shots from the lighting workshop and our "Dancers in the City" shootout.
